Description:
A beautiful oil on canvas painting by Lawrence Siebel that was painted and entered into the Greater Washington (DC) Independent Art Exposition (1934-1935 only). The name of the painting is "White Mans Meat". The painting is in the style of Frederic Remington & Charles Russell, depicts 2 Commanche warriors rustling Texas Longhorns that are branded from the XIT Ranch. This painting remains in excellent condition with no repairs to the canvas or the original frame. The original Art Exposition tag is still attached to the back. The painting could be slightly older than the 1930's but the tag on the back dates it when entered into the Exposition. The only 2 years that the Exposition was held was 1934 and 1935. Information on the artist has been elusive, maybe he actually worked the ranch as a Cowhand in his younger years. The painting measures 25 inches wide by 15 inches tall. A great Western painting from the famed XIT Ranch in Texas. Crated and shipped USPS priority mail is 100.00
