Savage youth rifle model 1905 introduced 1904 built in the english pattern with Swiss butt plate and 22" barrel. Ordered by Roberts Hardware Co owned by John A. Roberts, who is one of 9 gentleman who started the Savage Arms Corp in 1897 with a $200,000 bank roll. The wood is beautiful american walnut, rifle is fashined into a takedown frame. Chamber is in 22 short, 22 long or 22 long rifle. Bore is dark with strong rifleing, right side of the stock has some scratches otherwise there are light handleing marks through out. Factory letter included with a copy of the ledgure book showing the entry and build info. A copy of short note from the New York Times showing the 9 guys who started the Savage Corp.
