Inscribed in old pencil on the paper backing “My own dear Horace/Fannie S. Beecher” and “May heavens loudest blessing/shine ever on thee and thine/ Anonymous”. Excellent Union labeled case. Image is of Horace J. Beecher who was born in 1828 in Bridgewater, CT. and moved to Ohio at a young age. Inscription is from his wife Fannie. Horace joined the Union Army in 1863 and an image of his enlistment page is to be found on Ancestry as well as his headstone. There is a considerable amount more to be viewed online and researched.
