Scabbard stamped on the drag with the “STAR/TC” proof seen on Mole swords of this type with 1853 brass guards as associated with the Confederacy. Blade unmarked. Hilt and guard of U.S. Model 1840 pattern entirely of brass. Unknown variation that looks very “Confederate”. With the original belt hangers. Very good overall with blade polished bright and some very minor pits near the tip. Scabbard and hilt with very old dark patina. Absolutely genuine in every respect.
