Description:
SOLD A fine .36 cal., 28” octagon barrel with a bright fine bore. The barrel and lock have aged to a dull gray patina with a small area of light pitting on the barrel by the bolster and some overall scattered spots of light oxidation. Stamped on sode pf tje barrel is W.W..Doty. The decorative brass patchbox is toning to a warm goldenrod patina, the German silver mountings are bright with some fine cleaning striations and a few light handling marks and there are a few tiny pieces missing from the inlaid scroll of the pewter-colored nosecap. The highly-figured hardwood halfstock with left side cheekpiece rates about very good with a short crack ahead of the bolster, a small repaired chip in the left side of the wrist and some overall scattered light handling marks. The lockplate is marked “ECLIPSE GUN Co.”, the right quarter-flat of the barrel is marked “4 4.15.20.25 NO.7.R” A fine .36 cal muzzle loader, and set trigger must be set for the hammer to cock. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
