Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are completely proud to offer this fine example of John Marlin's model 1893 decked out in deluxe features. She boasts a checkered pistol grip stock, made from the finest extra select walnut we have ever seen on a Marlin. Yes, the stock bears the serial number of the gun. It is capped off with a Marlin logo shotgun butt plate. The half octagonal, half round 26 inch barrel is chambered in the venerable 30-30, and the bore is pretty good. There is considerable shine and strong rifling. It is a takedown, and she comes apart in about 10 seconds, and locks up tight just as fast. The half magazine is yet another special order feature. Made in the year of our Lord 1902, it is hard to believe she is 120 years old. The blue is drifting to patina, and edges have silvered out. The case colored receiver, another special order feature, still shows some smoky colors, along with a few flashes of blue. The action works as designed, includin g the half cock safety. The front sight is dinged a mite, but is still functional. The tang mounted peep sight allows for a whole 'nother set of ranges. The walnut has very few handling marks, with a tiny loss near the upper tang. We love these high grade Marlins, and take them in whenever we can. Some ask why they are so special. When you consider that Marlin only made about 355,000 rifles, including the 1881, 1888, 1889, 1891, 1892, 1893, 1894, and 1895, you can begin to see how rare they are. Compare that to the Winchester 1894, which sold over 6 milliuon copies, alone. That said, you can see why Marlins have gone up the value ladder so rapidly. If you have been looking for the right Marlin to collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of a 7 special order feature deluxe rifle, then look no further.
