IDENTIFIED U.S. MODEL 1902 ARMY OFFICER’S SABER AND SWAGGER STICK OF COL. WALTER B. MORROW, U.S. INF. CA. WW2. Late 1930’s vintage U.S. 1902 sword and scabbard. Nickel plated hilt and scabbard. Nickel plated 30” blade with etched floral and martial motifs and “U.S.” in cartouche. Black composition grip with small chip at top. Blade and scabbard fine overall with minor wear. Leather riding bat of WW2 vintage with metal name plate scratch engraved “WALTER B. MORROW” and rank markers for 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain and Major. The last three are scratch dated “41”, “42” and “43”. Brass U.S. Army Eagle Hat emblem affixed to the leather pommel boss by three screws. Tipped with an altered .30 cal. ball cartridge case and bullet. Col. Walter Morrow entered the Army just before WW2 and served in the U.S. Infantry thru the War. He remained in the Army serving on the 3rd Army Corps Staff and later as Colonel of the 29th Infantry Regiment at Ft. McClellan, Anniston, Alabama. Retired circa 1960’s. From the descendants of Col. Morrow.
