Description:
An unusually scarce collectors opportunity. Reportedly less than 200 quite like this, possibly only 178 in total. 45 CAL MODEL 1950 on the barrel, AND marked Mod.22 under the crane, on the frame, and three sideplate screws. This revolver, #S2556xx dates to around 1965, one of the latest encountered examples. (Jim Supica, Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson p.165,189)
The fantastic condition shoud be apparent from the photos: Excellent blueing (bit of wear behing the sides of the muzzle) Vibrant case colors, Slight turn ring on the cylinder, small red insert on the top of the front sight.
Inside of the grips are un-numbered, but they fit so perfectly, they have to be original.
The two piece gold box is very nice! Serial number on the bottom does NOT match the revolver.
Bore, rifling, chambers, action, lock-up, are all fine.
Factory original, matching#s, 45acp cylinder.
