Description:
VERY NICE LATE 1920'S TRYON SPECIAL PHILADELPHIA 12GA. FIELD GRADE 30" SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. Serial number "1385XX-F" and matching to all other parts. The 'Tryon" family had a sporting goods store in Philadelphia, PA. for many years on through the turn of the last century(up to the depression and contracted with such companies as Crescent Fire Arms (as this one appears to be). This piece has 30" fluid steel barrels choked Mod/Imod with 3" chambers. Mirror bright bores. Raised serrated solid rib so hefty overall for waterfowl loads. Original factory blue excellent. Receiver with factory case colors with lever right of center and very tight on face. Dbl triggers. Blue triggerguard. Extractors. Factory stock and forend with original factory checkering crisp and varnish stripped BUT never sanded. 14 1/4" length of pull over factory hard rubber or bakelite plate with no cracks or losses. Buttstock structurally sound with NO cracks or abnormalities. Suprisingly excellent original condition for one of these "affordable" shotguns and a nice addition to a Philadelphia shotgun collection. Ready to used today with many more years in it. Weighs 8.5 lbs.
