Joseph Egg Saw Handle Percussion Pistol
- .50 caliber
- Made by one of England's most revered gun makers Joseph Egg
- He was the gunsmith to the crown 1780-1835
- Lock plate has a floral border and scroll engraving (signed Joseph Egg)
- Top barrel flat is inlaid in gold and marked J Egg London
- Brass or gold plated front sight
- Inlaid gold bands at rear of barrel
- Deluxe checkered saw handle grip
- Dolphin style engraved hammer
- Engraved side plate, action, action breech, pistol butt, trigger guard, and tang
- Action is tight
- Trigger guard shape is classic J. Egg style
- Octagon barrel
- All screws engraved
- Platinum pressure release plug below nipple
- V notch rear sight
- Wood is in very good shape with no apparent splits or cracks
- Bore is good
- Monogram inletted silver medallion at top of grip (of a royal lion on a crown, indicates this gun belonged to a royal family member)
- A rare and significant pistol
