Description:
Original 1874 heavy barrel 50 caliber Sharps rifle. This gun belonged to Frederick "DOC" Zahl a famous buffalo hunter. There was a book about him written by Usher L. Burdick in 1938, a photocopy is included with gun. A large packet of information is also included. The current Sharps Collectors magazine has an excellent article featuring this gun.
The Sharps is in as found condition with great old age patina on the wood and metal. This gun looks the way you would want a well used buffalo Sharps to look. Pictured in the new Sharps Book.

This barrel probably replaced the original shot out barrel
