CIVIL WAR BELGIAN COLT BREVETTE .36 CAL. 6” OCTAGON ENGRAVED PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER CIRCA 1860’S. All original and matching. Full size 6 shot single action with barrel stamped with maker “JAQUES J. JABES SAMSOUN” on top left flat and on top flat “CAP SYSTEM BY COLT AMERICAN”. Belgian proofs on barrel and frame. Factory scroll engraving on frame and barrel. Cylinder with roll engraved “NAVAL ENGAGEMENT” scene. Good overall with clear markings and engraving. Has 40-50% original nickel plating. Original bone grips. Action frozen with old grease and rust in the recesses. Need cleaning. Nice colorful Belgian Colt copy of type exported around the world in the 1860’s and 1870’s including America.
