Description:
Parker DHE Grade ½ Frame 12GA. 28” Barrels
Serial # 241823 from the late Remington era of production. This is on the rare Parker half frame size. Date of mfg. Circa 1941-1942. There is no further documentation on Parker production from roughly this time frame forward.  Manufacturing had ended yielding for war production. (WW 2) Barrel specs: Factory 2 ¾” chambers, Chokes: Right Barrel: IC. Left barrel:  Imp. Mod.  Stock Dimensions: Straight grip, DAC. 1 ½”, DAH. 2 ¼”, LOP. 14 7/8”. Weight: 6# 13.7oz. Miller Single Trigger set in the rear position. Perfect modern era dimensions and feel.
This gun represents the final evolution of the famed Parker 12-gauge.  Parker offered no less than five frame sizes for the 12Ga. In descending order as opposed to weight. The very heavy #3 frame, the standard for 10 Ga.  The #2 frame heavy, 12 Ga. Lite 10 Ga.  The # 1 ½, intermediate, all arounder 12 Ga.  And the #1 light 12 Ga. and standard 16 Ga frame size.  Then Remington introduced the ½ size frame.  All these options to give the 12-gauge gun the weight, balance, and handling characteristics the sportsman wanted in his gun. Unique for a manufacture of any time.
This final evolution of the half frame size for the 12Ga., was no doubt an effort on Remington’s behalf, to further modernize and evolve the “Old Reliable”.

According to the Parker Gun Collectors Association, currently there are only 86 known Parker half frame guns reported to them. This gun went back to the Parker factory at least three times in the early 1950’s, as indicated by the date codes on the barrel flats. It is unknown what the nature of the repair (s) , or modification (s) were. As you look through the photos, look carefully, you may notice a very artistically blended wood stock extention.

The former owner replaced the old and rotted rubber pad, with a much lighter and very tasteful wood extention. He also had added the optional (back in the day) the checkered cheek panel's to add a bit of distinction. All to a  traditional checkered butt.  It was his intension, to have this last of the best Parker guns restocked accordingly. However, upon completion of the extension, this gave him pause. Let the photos tell the rest.
