ULTRA RARE EARLY 1ST TYPE COLT 3RD MODEL THUER .41RF CAL. SINGLE SHOT DERINGER CIRCA 1870-71. 2 ½” barrel with desirable tiny (1/8th” high) “COLT” stamp only seen on these very early examples with only a few hundred made. Protruding barrel screw bolster, large grip and high hammer which are features of this scarcest of all Colt cartridge deringers. Serial numbered in the 2xx range under the grip on the right strap and in ink on underside of right grip. 100% original and fine overall with traces of original blue mixed with patina on barrel and mellow brass frame. Burl walnut factory grips with nearly all the original finish. Working order and excellent bore.
