A sound and strong Civil War era Barvarian Amberg made horse pustol with no provision for a ram rod, common on horse pistols as they can't be re-loaded while at a gallup Overll length is a about 16" long with a 9" round barrel and very stronh action and hign hammer use by calvary horsemen. The bore measures about .70 caliber smooth bore. Lock-plate lightly marked Amberg and has a proof mark on tdhe breech of the barrel and side plate. The Getman walnut stock is clean and vry sound. These guns were sold to both sides in the scramble for firearms at the out breal of the Civil War.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
