With a barrel length of about 28" with a clean rifled -50-70 caliber bore, and sharp rifling.The breech had no serial number, and thr arched block has a number of 51. Lockplate is early marked SPRINGFIELD. In the white as issued, and field dings from use and a sliver out of the ram-rod channe on th left side near the muzzle cap. Has the correct fiip up long range rear sight.Wpuld make a good shooter.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
