Description:
Smith & Wesson K-22 Masterpiece (post-war 3rd Model) double-action/single-action revolver, with a 6-inch pinned barrel, wood stocks, semi-target hammer - 0.375” (3/8 inch) wide with checkered spur, service” trigger - 0.265” wide with grooved face, open micro-click adjustable rear sight, and a blue finish.  The revolver has a five-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock.  Based on its serial number, the date of manufacture is 1954.  The original two-piece, blue Smith & Wesson box is included with this gun.  There are no papers or accessories.

The overall condition of this gun is 98 percent.  The high-resolution photos make the finish look a little rough, but I assure you that is NOT the case.  According to one gentleman on the Smith & Wesson forum, “Guns made as commercial production ramped up after the War were not as nicely finished as they were before or as they became later.”  By today’s S&W standards, the finish on this gun is not deep and lustrous as new models, and there are some small factory imperfections.  The blued finish on the metal is all original and is, to the necked eye, almost perfect.  All the metal surfaces are smooth to the touch.  There is a very small amount of wear on each side of the muzzle, and there is the usual cylinder lock ring, but it is very light.  There is also a very small ding to the rear of the front sight.  Otherwise, there are no scratches, mars, blemishes, or other signs of wear elsewhere on the metal.  The wood stocks have a couple minor scuffs on the butt and a compression on the bottom rear of the left stock.  Otherwise, the stocks are in excellent condition; the checkering is deep and crisp, and shows no sign of wear.  There is a six-digit serial number stamped on the underside of the right-side stock, but it does not match the gun’s serial number; it is off by 28 – 213691 versus 213663.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.  I have six photos of the cylinder - one for every turn of the cylinder.  Unfortunately, I am out of photo room on GunsInternational, but I will provide those photos upon request.

The buyer pays $25 for USPS Priority mail and $25.10 for insurance.  Virginia buyers must pay 5.3% sales tax.

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash.  I will ship the revolver immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL.  I will also accept a personal check or other type money, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal.

Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall, NOT Barboursville Arms.
