This model is more-less considered to be the “Holy Grail” of all Remington handguns and the last Remington revolver. There were only approx 2020 made between 1891 and 1897 ..and most all of those were produced in the 5-1/2” configuration. This is a very, VERY fine specimen with 90%+ factory nickel, having most of the missing being around the recoil shield and the back strap and yet blending in with the nickel so is not readily noticeable. The grips would be near fine with just minor wear, but one grip does have a serious chip at the position mounting pin (see photo), but is not noticeable unless turned belly up. The markings are about excellent and it does have the correct “Remington Arms Co.” address. Mechanically it has a fine action and fine bore (about a 7-1/2 to 8 on a scale of 10). An extremely tough Remington revolver to find in ANY condition and this one is a VERY nice gun, about “Fine++” or better. $5650. Price: $5650 Antique: Yes |
