Description:
This is a rare 20 gauge August Lebeau double barrel shotgun, side locks, extractors, factory 2 3/4 inch chambers, ordered and shipped in 1912 to Russia. Included is a copy of the factory Ledger sheet and factory letter from Lebeau-Courally. Original 28 inch barrels, left barrel inscribed in French "Made for the Imperial Courts of Russia and Allemagne". This is an exquisite and very light fast pointing shotgun. LOP is long at 15 3/8 inches. Original horn butt plate with engraved screws. 70%+ of the original factory case colors remain on the receiver. 98%+ of the original barrel blue is present with mint shiny bores. Lock up is as tight as the day it was made. Case colors still remain on the faces of the triggers. Lebeau double barrels are some of the finest shotguns ever made, they are perfection and pre WW1 20 gauge side locks are very rare. This shotgun was most likely ordered by the Court of Czar Nicholas for someone in the Royal family or someone in the Court. Nicholas preferred Lebeau shotguns and owned several.  Its amazing this Lebeau is in this high condition. The only apology I see is the checkering on the wrist was gone over and made finer at some point in its life. Full factory case colors remain inside the action on the forearm and water tables, bushed firing pins and side fences are impeccable. The original factory blue is deep and lustrous throughout the blued surfaces. Chokes appear to be modified and improved with flawless shiny bores with not a hint of any corrosion. Shipped from FFL to FFL or C&R.
