BRITISH MANUFACTURED HENRY DERINGER STYLE PERCUSSION SILVER MOUNTED PISTOL FOR THE AMERICAN MARKET BY RICHARD HOLLIS & SONS CA. 1840’S-50’s. 10” with 5 ½” very fine true Damascus octagon .50 cal. barrel. Engraved lock and hammer. Lock engraved “RICH HOLLIS & SONS” Engraved German silver mounts. Walnut Deringer style stock with checkered bag shaped grip. All original except wood ramrod. Good overall with the original dark patina on metal and original wood finish. Many of this very popular style pistol imported from England to America particularly to the Southern states. Richard Hollis was a well known Birmingham maker in the mid 19th Century.
