WWII USAF Airforce Crash/Survival Axe
- WWII allied aircraft were equipped with these axes to assist the crew in escaping from it in a crash
- Has an insulated rubber handle designed to allow the axe to be used to cut through live electrical cables
- Was usually mounted in cockpit for quick locating
- One was issued to each pilot in the USAF
- Full profile tang axe is made from a single piece of 1/4″ thick steel
- 15 3/8" overall length
- Great overall collectible condition
