Description:
A fine and original Naval Dirk with its original scabbard circa 1820-1840. It has an antique elephant ivory handle and a double edge blade that meausures just over 4 1/8 inches...overall it measures 7 7/8 inches. The mounts and guard are gilded over brass. Sharp edges with no damage on the diamond shaped blade and no makers mark. The ivory handle has a tight but stable stress crack extending from the guard up the handle 1 1/4 inches. It remains solid with nothing being loose. The original suspension ring remains and the leather is soft and pliable with no deterioration. Most likely American or English and could be slightly earlier. A fine antique Naval Dirk for the early knife collector. USPS priority mail is 8.00
