This was the standard issue martial handgun issued during the Mexican War and the last flintlock pistol produced for the U.S. military. This one being dated 1837, and thus one of the earliest dated of this model. The one deficit to this really NICE weapon is that the hammer screw is broken and will require removing the broken screw shaft from the tumbler and the screw head from the hammer. Very Fine metal and Fine wood with a strong cartouche, and a collector of martial U.S. handguns will search for quite a while to find a better example of this last model of the U.S. military flints. Fine to Ex.Fine. $2350. Price: $2350 Antique: Yes |
