Description:
A fancy tiger maple percusson, full stock rifle of about .54 cal.with a 33” octagon barrel with a heavily oxidized bore. All of the iron surfaces are a lightly oxidized plum brown with some scattered lightcorrosion.Tang screw missing. The lockplate and hammer show some extremely basic line engraving. All of the furniture is brass and very basic in nature, the patchbox door fastened with a simple common nail. The curly/riger maple stock rates good as refinished with a square-bottom cheekpiece, with the toe repaired and left undinished.. There are numerous cracks at the toe and a number of long slivers and chips missing from both sides of the barrel channel, the right side nearly the full length. The lock functions and there is an older replacement ramrod included. The hammer appears to be stretched as there is a braze in the center that is aged, and not so noticible.Overall sold as a project to fix the slivers and wood along the barrels edgeWhen buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
