Description:
An interesting Queen Anne converted pistol with three earlyEnglish on the barrel of a 9 1/4" round barrel with a .62" smooth bore, and English walnut stock with wear and chips and cracks from double duty. The buttcap has early long langets, the the brass gtrigger guard has a beak but not hanging free.Appears as if the lock as changed at the time of conversion, and even lengthened at some time to accomodate the lock opening,The name can;t fully be read but looks like "Frames Warrented". Lock works good and th gun comes with an old hardwood ram-rod wuth a brass tip. Conversion is 19th century boldter common of southern gunsmiths. The high hammer looks like an 1861 musket type but a smaller form. Intriguing story could be told by this gun if it could talk.Brass oval escheceon plate at the back of the tang inlaid into the stock. Overall quire a coloful converted pistol.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
