Proved for 2-1/2" cartridges and choked Cylinder & Modified. The rib is marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON." and "WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS. LONDON. 1883." The barrels have been re-proofed in London with Nitro Proofs in 2005. The action body and locks are adorned with bouquets and scroll pattern engraving, "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" on both locks and stylized fern frond fences with a case color hardened finish. The action is fit with an extended length top strap, Braizer locks and low rebounding hammer. The smooth double triggers are protected by a blacked engraved trigger guard that extends to a long bottom tang with the serial number. Highly figured walnut stock with traditional English straight hand grip, vacant stock oval and splinter fore-end with Deeley style lever release. 14-3/8" LOP to a scored ebonite buttplate, Cast Off 1/8" at face, 6 Lbs. 12 Oz.
