Description:
This is a wonderful hand crafted robust knife. The blade is 4 ?? inches long with 1 ?? inches in the belly. The symmetry in this knife is a marvel to behold, it has a middle blade thickness, just at the forward end of the scales of ?? inch and tapers in both directions. The figured curving scales are 4 !/4 inches long and are tapered to be thicker as the full tang drops to 1/8th inch. The left scale has a fine crack that runs from the front end to past the first pin. The rich brown hardwood scales are held on by two brass pins. The blade smiths mark of an "anvil inside a shield" is clear and this knife was crafted around the 70's. The finish shows age and a very fine scattering of surface corrosion, with the other surface features appearing to be original as the smith made it. The accompanying sheath also looks handmade of leather. The stitching is all present and tight with the top ends reinforced with rivets. Scabbard may bot have been made for this knife. It is a little large and slips by the snap. Please see pictures for details.
