"New Englad Target rifle by Levis Jordan Adams Mass. Listed in Sellers book, American Gunsmiths as working 1849-1865. Lock is by Warren & Steele, Albany, NY. Caliber is .44 and the heavy barrel measures 27"" from the false muzzle to the barrel plug. Rifle is very sharp with very good origial blue. Lock, breech plug, trigger guard and buttplate all nicely engraved. Front sight base is present but no apertures. Fine walnut stock with 95-98% varnish. Very fine Massachusetts target rifle.AL2588
