Description:
S&W model of 1955 (pre 25) Target chambered in .45 acp.

This particular revolver is one of the very rarest and finest collectible versions of the 1955 in existence.

According to the enclosed copy of Roy Jinks’ factory letter dated 8/5/85 this is the earliest 1955 that Mr. Jinks had recorded for this model, made in the first half of 1956.  The gun is fitted with a proto type “W” main spring and although not noted in the letter Mr. Jinks, upon personal inspection, acknowledge that this is the on 1955 that he had even encountered with the “W” main spring!  Also noted is the red post Patridge front sight and white outline rear sight.

One more very rare option:  A Smith & Wesson factory muzzle brake, made especially for the Model 1955 comes with this revolver.  It does appear to have even been on the gun!

To make this even better this 1955 appears to be unfired and it retains 100% original finishes.  There is a very slight “drag” line but otherwise perfect.  The only thing that is missing is the original box and paperwork!
