28" BARRELS, IMPROVED CYLINDER & MODIFIED, 2-1/2", SINGLE SELECTIVE MECHANICAL TRIGGER, AUTOMATIC SAFETY, STRAIGHT HAND GRIP, SPLINTER FOREND, RUBBER RECOIL PAD, 6 LBS 10 OZ, 1-3/8" DAC, 2-1/8" DAH, 14-1/2" LOP

A 12 gauge sidelock game gun with 28" blacked round nitro proved barrels that are fit with ejectors, a tapered smooth concave game rib with doll's head rib extension and a steel bead front sight. Proved for 2-1/2" cartridges and choked Improved Cylinder & Modified. The rib is marked "WILLIAM EVANS (FROM PURDEYS) 63, PALL MALL ST JAMES'S, LONDON." The coin finished action body and lockplates are adorned with traditional foliate scroll engraving. The lockplates are engraved "WILLIAM EVANS" by action bars. Bottom of the action body is marked "EVANS PATENT SINGLE TRIGER". The screw grip action is fit with disc set strikers, beaded fences, blacked engraved top lever with left side checkered thumbpiece and automatic safety with gold-inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the checkered safety slide. The Evans patent mechanical single selective trigger is protected by a blacked patina engraved trigger guard ending in a long bottom strap with serial number. The barrel selection is done by a lever on the left side of the trigger. Best quality walnut stock with straight hand grip, drop points, vacant gold stock oval and splinter fore-end with Anson type push button release. 14-1/2" LOP to a 1" KICK-EEZ rubber recoil pad, 6 Lbs. 10 Oz.
