Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are extra proud to offer this fine example of an early Colt Single Action Army. Made in the year of our Lord 1876, she is 146 years old. A lot was going on that year, such as the Centennial celebration and the battle of the Little Bighorn. This wheel gun remains in good condition. The blue has lost some luster, but remains deep and dark. The muted case colors still have some flashes of blue. The action is fairly crisp, and lockup only has a slight wiggle. The original one piece walnut grips are also in good shape, with some losses and scratches. The stampings are mostly good. The first digit of the serial number on the trigger guard is mostly gone, but you can tell it is a 2. Even the bore of the 7 1/2 inch barrel has plenty of shine and strong rifling. All the correct features are there for the era. The bullseye ejector handle, transverse retaining screw for the base pin, early hammer knurling, cylinder serial number, July 2-72 patent date, hole in the base pin head, and the butt serial number in one line. The nostalgic ammo box is the icing on the cake. Also, it ships right to your door. A long term collector treasured this revolver, and the fitted case helped to preserve this historical firearm. Generally speaking, the older the SAA, the higher the value. This is the oldest SAA we have ever offered. These early guns were mostly work horses, performing in rough outdoor conditions. To find one in any condition is good, to find one in good condition is even better. If you have been looking for the right Colt Single Action to collect or for investment, but want the added clout of an early cased gun, then look no further. Reasonable offers will be considered.
