Description:
With a large caliber of About .58 cal. smoothbore, 34” round barrel with octagonal breech and very good bore showing some scattered oxidation and light pitting. The barrel and under rib are a brown patina with some scattered light oxidation. The Henry Parker lockplate shows loose scroll engraving and a pewter patina with patches of brown. The hammer is a darker smoky gray and brown patina with tighter scroll. The walnut stock features a raised cheekpiece and remains in very good plus condition with light handling marks and an area of filler where the original triggerguard at the tang was replaced and an added light varnish. The inletted brass patch box works well.The stock features a pewter nosecap, single spur brass triggerguard, pendulum patchbox and buttplate with toeplate. The barrel is sighted with a simple brass blade front sight and fixed v-notch rear sight. An older hardwood ramrod is present. Food balance and condition is above average for a gun over 150 years old..When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
