Description:
These are rare, true left hand Large Ring, Large Thread M98 Commercial Mauser rifles by Zastava. Available calibers are 6.5X55 .and 300 Winchester Magnum. The 300 Win is a versatile caliber as is, but I have sold many of these guns for rebarreling to other calibers, notably, 458 Win, 338 Win, 375 Ruger, 416 Ruger and 404 Jeffrey. The 404 Jeffrey will require a new bottom metal because of the diameter of the cartridge. Some rail work may be required on calibers other than 338. I have sold several for conversion to this caliber and no rail or bolt face work is required. This description applies generally to all calibers. The barrel is 22 inches long. The action has the famous Mauser Controlled Round Feed Claw extractor set up for this cartridge. The ultra-reliable Mauser blade ejector is also present for positive ejection of empty cases. The magazine is specific to the cartridge. I have tested this action type with a variety of factory ammo and it will handle them all. This rifle has really good iron sights. The wood is Juglans Regia from Armenia. The Bavarian style stock works well with optical sights as well as irons. Many customers use the stocks as is but they are a little fat for my taste. On my personal rifle, I recontoured the stock for a trimmer fit and had it recheckered in diamond point pattern. This rifle has my discretely placed, "GSI, Greeneville, TN" import mark as required by law. Add $50 shipping and insurance for the lower 48 states, $100 for AK and HI. I do ship to CA.
