Colt Single Action Army "Frontier Six Shooter" Revolver
- .44/40 caliber
- Made in 1894
- 5 1/2" barrel
- Carried by Texas Ranger Frank Hamer in the early days of his law enforcement career
- He broke the right grip by hitting an adversary over the head in a fight after everyone was out of bullets
- Includes affidavit from Frank Hamer Jr, giving some of the history of the gun
- Includes Cody letter
- Traces of original nickel finish are present
- Full factory engraving
- 5 1/2" barrel
- Frank modified this revolver for rapid fire fanning known as "Slip Hammer"
- This revolver was carried by Hammer from 1903-1911 during his service in the Big Ben Country with the Texas Rangers
- Hammer used this revolver until it was worn enough it was time to get a new one
- He also modified the front sight
- Frank A. Hamer was an American lawman and Texas Ranger who led the 1934 posse that tracked down and killed criminals Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow
- Renowned for his toughness, marksmanship, and investigative skill, he acquired status in the Southwest as the archetypal Texas Ranger
- Last time this revolver was offered for sale was in the Raymond Brown Collection in 1986
