This is the 1860 First Model Conversion. this model is identified by the floating firing pin and the extended breech plate. the gun is equipted with an 8" barrel and walnut grips. The serial numbers (197704) are matching with the brass trigger guard, frame, baarrel and the cylinder. The loading gate is is correct with the last three digits. The Colt Address is correct and readable except for the "York" part of New York. There is an "H" stamped on the bottom of the trigger guard and "Colts Patent" is stamped on the left front of the frame. The left front of the trigger guardis marked "C" and the left rear trigger guard is marked "44 CAL". This gun is in uniquely good condition with the full exterior surface a consistant Plum Patina. There is light pitting of the surfaces , but not so deep that it detracts from the appearance of the gun. The gun should rate NRA "Good" A must have for any Colt collection.
