Mainspring vice for Muzzloading sidelock springs.
Pre civil war. A must for easily removing the mainspring from any sidelock firearm.
The large, leaf type main springs in antique sidelocks are prone to break if shocked in the wrong direction by slipping out of the grop of pliers.
This vice allows the spring to be compressed to remove and easily to re-install.
No visible markings, but very well made compared to most others I've seen.
