Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this extremely hard to find Winchester 1876. Not only is it chambered in the most desirable caliber, but it also features a 28 inch octagonal barrel. That is 2 inches longer than what was standard for the Express guns. Only 83 of the 1876 model were made in this configuration. The crescent butt plate was found on about half of Express rifles, and the Baker patent ladder type rear sight was another no cost option. All 76's are sought after, for several reasons. Less than 64 thousand were produced from 1876 to 1897. Introduced at the centennial celebration of our nation, they were the last lever action model designed in-house by Winchester. This rifle was made in the year of our Lord 1883. She is in very good condition for being 140 years old. The blue has drifted to patina, but there is very little rust or pitting to be found. The bore of the long barrel is very good, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. The stampings are clear, with the most wear to the serial number. The walnut is fairly well figured for a '76, and fit to the steel is pretty good. The icing on the cake is that the cleaning rods are present in the stock. While all Winchester 1876 models are climbing in value, the Express and special order guns are really skyrocketing. I have searched the internet, and this is the only 1876 chambered in 50-95 WCF with a 28 inch barrel for sale, anywhere. If you have been looking for the right 1876 to collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of an extremely rare Express rifle, then look no further.
