Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are surely proud to offer this extremely hard to find deluxe engraved version of an already low production double, the model 350. The Stevens Tool Company offered a prolific amount of models in their heyday, and this one was offered around 1905. They were well built guns, especially when the low price was considered. Like Remington, nearly all production was geared toward workhorse guns. However, both produced a few noteworthy exceptions, and this shotgun is an example. The factory engraving is quite stunning, besting a Parker D grade. The dogs are quite large and detailed, as is the scroll. I mention Parker because the oversized hinge pin is similar. It may have even been caught up in the famous Parker-Fox law suit, which would explain the short run of this model. Also, a prominent Stevens collector contacted me, and he believes the engraver to be Harry or William Gough. William was the chief engraver at Parker from 1899 to 1911. The birds and dogs on this gun look just like those on a Parker. The icing on the cake is that the model and address are actually engraved into the belly of the receiver. Very classy. She is in good condition. The blue is strong, the checkered wood has a few handling marks, and the lever resides well to the right of center. The bores of the 30 inch tubes are bright, choked modified and full. Stevens fans are loyal group, and rarely get to find deluxe versions of their favorite gunmaker. We have handled several factory engraved Stevens', but this is, by far, the most elaborate. If you have been looking for the right Stevens to collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of a deluxe engraved gun, then look no further.
