SOLD A solid good working Remington 1858 with Illion , N.Y. address. that indexes and locks up tight. On the left side of the frame and barrel are inspector letter C and on the left side of the trigger guard is a letter B, no numbers on the worn grips.Exterior metal finish is grey/brown mixed with blue and possibly some added color is found. Nipples are flattened a bit and the cylinder is clean, as well as the barrel bore has good rifling and patches of corrosion and shallow pits, but shootable.Overall clean and rugged Civi War era gun not abused.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
