Description:
Joh Sigott Combination Double hammer gun. Cal. 16 ga. x 8x50R Austrian Mannlicher.  27 1/2" barrels, the shotgun choked a light full, with an about very good bore which shows a few scattered light pits and with a very interesting straight, as well as very lightly spiral cut, rifling with right-hand twist, the rifle barrel rating about very good showing frosting or light pitting its full-length. The barrels are an overall dark blue-gray, faded original blue patina, with fading to pewter and scattered light oxidation, primarily in the carry area. The breeches show some nice wedges of engraving near the side clips, . The makers name is inlaid in gold on the rib "Joh Sigott in Ferlach". The frame and lockplates are a deep tarnished pewter-gray patina showing loose open flowing scroll with game scene vignettes on the lockplates. Left we see a running boar, right is a bellowing stag and does. The rebounding locks are crisp with robust hammer springs and the front trigger is a single set. The checkered capped walnut pistolgrip buttstock and splinter style forend rate about very good and good, with the overall dings and handling marks that come from the years, the forearm worn nearly smooth. The arm is sighted with a silver blade front and two leaf rear, one folding one standing, and a nice lollipop flip-up aperture sight in the long tang. Additionally the rib has been fitted with a set of quick detach bases and scope rings which support a Kahles Heliavier telescopic sight with heavy European crosshair reticle.  The scope rates  very good and is an overall plum brown patina. Rifle shoots great and is very accurate. The arm  locks up well and is on-face.
