Art Mashburn was a legend in the gun world in Oklahoma City from 1941 to 1972, he and his wife operated Mashburn Arms. He was a pioneer in Mashburn wildcat cartridges and became known for his famous 7mm Mashburn Magnum. So much so that Warren Page used a Mashburn 7mm Magnum rifle built by them and he referred to it as Old Betsy and he took 475 head of game with that very rifle. Because of this wildcat cartridge it had profound influence on Remington introducing the 7mm Remington Magnum in 1962 and Warren Page had a lot to do with that. Art Mashburn was a gentleman, hardworking, honest and did it with a lot of passion and grace. He worked pass his 80's and died in 1992.

Oklahoma was a sporting gun state then and remains that to this very day. We Okie's are staunch believers in the 2nd amendment and are damn proud to be one of the reddest states in the whole of the USA. Long live the spirit of Oklahoma and please share its history and culture with all the people in this most conservative-leaning state that has very limited gun laws and limited business regulations.
