#S 69764, Smith & Wesson 38 S&W Special Model .38/44 Outdoorsman, It was shipped from the factory on September 6, 1946 to Stanley Andrews, 1144 Third Avenue, San Diego, California, 6 1/2" pinned barrel with a rib, Micrometer adjustable rear sight, Partridge front sight, Serrated top strap & rib, Case hardened trigger and hammer, N frame, Serial numbers match on the cylinder and ejector rod housing, Checkered diamond grips with the S&W medallions, This piece remains original, The original barrel blue remains at 96%, The frame and cylinder blue at 94%, The original grips remain at 97%, The bore is excellent plus. It comes with a period blue and gold factory box. There were 2,326 of these made by S&W in the post-war era.
