Serial No.9633, circa 1862-1865, .54 caliber, 33"" round barrel. Barrel and rear sight are a light grey patina with pin-prick oxidation noted throughout. Stock shows scattered nicks, dings and scratches with some wood loss present right side between front barrel band and end cap , cartouche is present. Bore is good with some frosting noted in the grooves. Patch box and breech lever have ""16"" stamped on them. Total of 770 Merrill rifles were manufactured.
