SOLD .....This Beautiful Attractive and EXTREMELY RARE variation of the CAVALRY CARBINE 1909/47 MAUSER with ALL MATCHING NUMBERS is one of 1200 made, with prefix "B" Serial Number as it is properly marked for this variant, showing the SCARCE ROLL MARK “C.F.S.”. Original Correct Military Configuration. It comes with a CORRECT VARIANT MATCHING "CFS" marked BAYONET/SCABBARD (not matching to the rifle). The “C.F.S.” stands for the “Consejo Federal de Seguridad”, or translated to English, the Federal Council of Security. It was manufactured on German machinery shipped from Germany to Argentina.
About the law organizing CFS: "Dentro de la orbita del Ministerio del Interior,por ley No.14.701 , se creo la hoy defunta organizacion,bajo la presidencia de peron en 1951.Sus miembros fueron el Director General del Registro Nacional de las Personas,Policia Federal.Gendarmeria,Perfectura Nacional Maritima,y un delegado por cada una de las policias de las provincias y territorios nacionales.Su mision era la de coordinar y armonizar el trabajo administrativo de lass fuerzas policiales envueltas.Durante su existencia,la perfectura nacional maritima ,fue re-nombrada a Policia Maritima.El Gobierno Revolucionario Militar de 1955,destrono al presidente peron,y disolvio el Consejo Federal de Seguridad por decreto No.2.444/56".
Condition of the Carbine: From my personal collection. Correct, Original, Nice sharp crisp markings with good details, "CFS" on the white receiver ring; ALL visible matching numbers on receiver, bolt, wood stock (usually found without numbers when encountered) and magazine floor plate. Appearing Original rich dark finish with little loss, discoloration, fading, thinning, edge wear mixed with gray plumb pleasing patina, with scratches, handling marks. NO active oxidation, NO rust observed. Very clean gun. Buttplate in the white as proper for the 09, with some handling marks, scratches from age. Beautiful figured grain redish-brown walnut stock appearing in original finish; it is solid with NO cracks, NO repairs, with scattered small nicks, dents, bruises, little loss of wood on the bottom next to butplate, and normal scratches, handling marks from use. Handguard with nice matching color and grain with minimal scratches, handling marks, bruises, tiny lose right corner. The copper wire looks newer on top of the old one or a replacement. Appears to have a good tight action, with nice shiny bolt on the white as well as the receiver, as it should be on the 09s. Cocks on open. To the naked eye, the bore is smooth with very good rifling, some shine with light gray. It does have a very tiny import mark on the right side of the rear receiver by the bolt.
Condition of the Bayonet: Very RARE BAYONET and SCABBARD bearing the "CFS" marking with MATCHING NUMBERS (not matching to the rifle) is in great shape as well. The edge of the blade is unsharpened as it should be, with no nicks (might have a slight imperfection if any) bright with aging spots, dry grease mixed with pleasing patina. Nice crisp markings. The wooden handles in excellent shape with NO cracks, NO chips with minimal handling scratches, marks, bruises, with rivets in good shape. The release button works just fine. Rest of medal matching with the blade. Scabbard has some finish lose, fading thinning, aging toning spots mixed with patina, shallow dent not impeding the fitting of the blade. Scabbard fits the bayonet nicely as it should. Bayonet fits the rifle very well. Book pictures for reference only.
