Description:
".22 cal long" barrel with excellent shinny bore--22 short can also be used but 22 long rifle are too long.  The barrel is matching serial number to the action of the rifle.  The shotgun barrel, also a great bore, is within a few digets of the action as well--I have to believe they have been together from the begining.  The front sight on the rifle barrel is a post or a pop up hooded fine pin.  The rear tang sight has a "Pope" like, I believe,  rotatable disc (Pat Date May 17, 1887) with 6 different size apertures.  Like all the Maynards I have had has a great trigger.  The profile of the gun is the same as the Model 2 Civil war carbine.  The shotgun barrel when installed is the handiest handling quail gun I've ever used.  With number 6 lead shot I can bat clean up skeet shooting with the kids.  I use 20 gauge brass shells, easily available,  with 60-75 gr FFF BP, two felt wads standard weight shot and one half a felt wad as an over shot card.  I have a box of 24 or 25 that I reuse.  I am a shooter and I shoot all my guns, but we all know I can not warrantee them to anyone else.
