Description:
Remington Model 700 BDL (Better Deluxe) bolt-action rifle with a 22-inch barrel, an American walnut Monte Carlo style stock, and a Tasco 3-9X40 scope with Weaver mounts.  It is also factory drilled and tapped for iron sights.  There is no date code on the barrel to determine the date of manufacture.

At 98- percent overall, this rifle is in excellent condition.  The walnut stock has some line dents and a few mars, mostly on the left side of the stock, about in the middle of the pancake cheekpiece.  Just behind and below the cheekpiece is a 1 ½ - 2-inch line dent and few other very small line dents.  On the left side of the stock, above the trigger, there are a series of vertical striations about an inch long and covering a horizontal width of about 1 ½ inches.  I am not sure what this is from, maybe blemishes from the factory.  They are not scratches and nowhere is the finish penetrated.  On the right side of the stock, just behind the bolt handle, there is a rub about 1 ¼ inch x ¼ inch.  It too seems to be in the wood or in the finish.  You can feel it like denting, but the finish is not broken or penetrated.  The pistol-grip cap (bottom of the pistol grip) shows some discoloration (speckles), and the leading edge of the bottom of the cap has a 1-inch long area where the clear-coat has been chipped or rubbed off.  The rest of the wood is in excellent condition, including the checkering which deep and crisp and shows no mars or other wear.

The barrel, receiver, bolt, and other metal parts are in excellent condition, with no marks or signs of wear.  The only exception is a ½ x ¼-inch silver-colored rub on the top of the barrel, not quite three inches from the end of the forend (see last photo).  I will be glad to send photos of any parts of the gun you wish to see.  There is no box, accessories, or owner’s manual.  There is a leather sling attached to the rifle as seen in the photos.  It is in very good condition; it is not torn, cracked, or dried out.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Contact me for additional photos of any areas you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays $60 for USPS Priority Mail and $17.70 for insurance.  Virginia buyers must pay 5.3% sales tax.

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money order, as they are like cash.  I will ship the pistol immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL.  I will also accept a personal check and other type money orders, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal.

Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall (not Barboursville Arms).
