"Mortimer Type Percussion Rifle. Large Bore 1" Diameter at Muzzle Gun is Engraved H.W. Mortimer on both the lock and barrel. In our opinion the Mortimer markings have been engraved later and not by Mortimer. The barrel, we think was longer. This was probably a type of “wall" gun or naval close action gun. Barrel has a copper-brown finish. Stock is very good. The barrel is 30" long and the gun is 46" overall length. Action works perfectly. This is a large bore Percussion smoothbore for military use we assume It is not a cut down market hunters gun.
