1849 Colt 4" Factory Engraved Revolver with Mother of Pearl Grips,Cased .Serial No. 226259. Manufactured in 1863. Revolver has all matchung numbers except loading lever which is 6271 instead of 6259. 11 numbers off. Absolutely a Factory mistake. Extremely sharp gun with just a trace of original finish here and there. Factory Engraved Colts look great even without finish. Cylinder scene is 99% conservatively. I believe Mother of Pearl grips are original to this gun as they fit perfectly.Very Rare. Not sure this serial range will letter. Revolver is tight as a drum. Action works fine. Bore has good rifling with minor frosting. Original case is beautiful with original Green interior. I believe a coat of finish was added years ago. Does not detract. Pics show wear spots on velvet. Colts Patent Mold is great condition, as is eagle flask. Case key included. An extremely attractive casing that won't break the bank. Please call 973-214-3407 with questions. Thankyou
