Description:
This is an heirloom quality double rifle that was built by the innovative and famous Master Gunsmith Bailey Bradshaw of Texas. It is his rare "Rising Block" configuration, where instead of the traditional hinge joining of the barrels to the receiver, the barrel set slides in channels that are machined into the receiver, thereby creating a much stronger lock-up. The underlever raises the barrel set to allow for loading and unloading the rifle.
This rifle was developed over a 10 year period, starting with the purchase of a $4,000 Presentation AAA+++ stock blank from Luxus Walnut. The rifle was built with two sets of barrels; 500NE and 450-400NE. Deep relief Engraving was completed by Bailey on the receiver and other parts. Then, 22 Carat Gold accents were added to enhance the design. Bailey said this was the most elaborate rifle that he has ever made. He used over 11 feet of 22 Carat Gold wire in the inlays. The barrel sets are both 26" long to emulate the older British doubles. Both barrels have Quarter Ribs with Dovetails to alow adding Optical Sights. LOP is 14 1/4" Other features include: Hinged Front Trigger - Latch-Lock Underlever - Very Quiet Top Interlock Swing Safety - Sling Mount Eyes on Barrel & Stock - Red Silvers Recoil Pad.
