Dakota Arms Model 76 .270 Winchester. Serial 1491 is an early rifle with a 23-inch barrel. Important features include a full-length claw extractor, three-position safety, recessed bolt release lever, cloverleaf tang, steel bottom metal and a rust blue finish. STOCK: Shaped from a AA-grade walnut blank selected for at an NRA fundraising banquet, appointments include 24 lines-per-inch panel checkering, open grip, logo recoil pad, sling swivel studs and a satin finish. The NRA logo is etched in gold on the grip cap. Bedding combines aluminum pillars plus glass at the lug and along the barrel channel. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.7 inches. CONDITION: Clearly seldom afield, the bore is pristine. Metal and stock finishes are each approximately 98 percent. Trigger pull is crisp. No box, papers or accessories. The price is firm and layaway is available. $4,000 plus shipping.
